For We Live By Faith, Not By Sight.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to seek out and save lost souls and to serve the needy through teaching the word, transforming the lost, touching the down-trodden and training for the work.
What We Believe
We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that through these acts and our faith in Him, salvation is attained.
The AME Church
Words of Faith AME Church, located at 5719 Garner Rd SW, Mableton, Georgia is connected to the African Methodist Episcopal Church established in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1787.
Our Church History
Words of Faith AME Church had its beginnings in 2001 when Reverend Walter D. Moon was assigned to develop a mission church in Mableton, Georgia. After searching for a permanent location for some time, Reverend Moon, along with a handful of faithful members, entered into a contract in 2002 to purchase the current property housing Words of Faith AME Church at 5719 Garner Road in Mableton, Georgia. Reverend Moon served as the Senior Pastor at Words of Faith and, along with his faithful and untiring wife, Sister Winford G. Moon, shepherded the growth of the church to upwards of 300 members. On June 10, 2016, when Reverend Moon retired, our current pastor, the Reverend Larry J. Lockett, Jr. was assigned as the Senior Pastor of Words of Faith AME Church. Reverend Lockett is committed to carrying on the legacy of Words of Faith through prayer, praise and service.
