Family Life Ministries

The Men’s Fellowship Ministry gives the men of the church an opportunity to bond together in unity, fellowship and fun. “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17. Every week, men 18 years of age and older come together to study the Bible, learn from one another and be challenged and encouraged to live for something larger than themselves.

The Women’s Fellowship Ministry brings women together for the purpose of encouragement, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Through scriptures, we encourage women to realize their worth in God’s eyes (Proverbs 31:10-31). We are also mentors for single women as we all strive to get closer to God, becoming true vessels of honor – Fit for the Master’s use.

Our Singles Ministry is a ministry of a diverse group of  singles, who are enjoying life to the fullest and embracing the power of being single until GOD changes the season. We provide social settings where singles can fellowship with other Christian singles, creating a desire for growth both naturally and spiritually.

Our Cadet Ministry is made up of several small groups. Each group is led by John Delay. Brother Delay will challenge, guide, encourage, listen and counsel the cadets as an expression of God’s love. Sharing the joy and wisdom of Christ-like living with young cadets is central to the Cadet Ministry at Words of Faith AME Church.

The Teen Girls Ministry is designed to motivate, inspire, and impart knowledge to young women ages 13 to 18 through interactive, spirit-filled activities, practical applications, and worship. Girls will engage in various activities such as cooking classes, etiquette and hygiene classes, volunteer activities, field trips and parties, all in a safe, nurturing environment, rooted in the spirit of love and giving.

The Teen Boy Ministry is designed to motivate, inspire, and impart knowledge to young men ages 13 to 18 through interactive, spirit-filled activities, practical applications, and worship. Boys will engage in various activities such as STEM classes, chilvary and hygiene classes, volunteer activities, field trips and parties, all in a safe, nurturing environment, rooted in the spirit of love and giving.

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

The Young People’s Division (YPD) provides meaningful training on all areas of church life in order to enable children and youth to fully participate in the total mission of the church. YPD also provides opportunities for leadership experience.

The Activities Ministry plans fun, family-oriented activities for the entire church family that take place during leisure time. It seeks to strengthen fellowship and deepen relationships with God and each other. We believe that “A family that plays together and prays together, stays together.”

Family Game Night, Movie on the Lawn, and A Night of Comedy are some of the activities we have successfully hosted. We are always on the lookout for new activities and welcome all suggestions and/or new members to our ministry!

The Debutantes and Masters’ Commission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is focused on the transition of children/youth from adolescence to adulthood. This period of transition is significant in most cultures and celebrated in a ceremony. (Anthropologists call such occasions “rites of passage”). Participants attend workshops in financial planning, career development, social etiquette and much more. Individuals participate in outings to colleges, restaurants and historical sites. Our children and youth participate in one-on-one instruction, group discussions and team projects.

Welcome to the Married Couples Ministry. Marriage is God’s idea and he has a purpose and plan for each marriage. He calls us to become one and model the relationship between Jesus and the church. Our marriages can actually be a tool that God can use to win men, women, boys and girls to Christ. What an awesome opportunity!

The Pre-Teen Ministry engages in activities to learn of and glorify God. Preteens are an important group of adolescents who have different needs from first graders and ninth graders. Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” The transition between children’s ministry and youth ministry is tricky, and we are committed to keeping our preteens involved and engaged during this time.

Worship, Fellowship, Service, Friendship, and Family. These are the things that we work to build in the Seniors Ministry at Words of Faith AME Church. We feel that these can be the best years of your life. We want to assist you in being all that God wants you to be. Whether it’s learning a new angle on a favorite Bible verse or on the go with our apple picking trips, you’ll easily understand what all the excitement is all about. With dedication to the Lord, the Seniors Ministry is on the move and we want you to come along.
